3 Easy Things You Can Do Today to Improve Your Online Quilt Store’s SEO

SEO can feel like one more thing on the never-ending quilt shop to-do list. But you don't need to become an SEO expert to make some quick improvements.

Here are three things you can do today that take very little time.

1. Fix Your Product Titles

Look at your product titles. Do they actually say what the product is?

Instead of: Blue Meadow

Try: Blue Meadow Quilt Pattern | Modern Layer Cake Quilt Pattern

Your customers may know what “Blue Meadow” is, but Google doesn't have much to go on.

Use the words your customers are actually searching for: quilt pattern, fat quarter bundle, quilt kit, Tilda fabric, layer cake, jelly roll, etc.

Today's task: Update the titles of your five best-selling products.

2. Add More Information to Your Product Descriptions

A description that says “Beautiful fabric bundle. Perfect for your next project!” isn't giving Google much to work with.

Add the details customers actually want to know:

  • Designer and collection
  • Number of fat quarters
  • Fabric size
  • Colors and print style
  • Finished quilt size
  • Skill level
  • Precut requirements

You're not stuffing keywords into your description. You're simply giving Google more information about what you're selling.

Today's task: Pick five products and add a few useful details to each description.

3. Search for Yourself

This one is easy. Think of three things you sell and Google them the way a customer would.

For example:

“Tilda fat quarter bundle”
“beginner quilt pattern”
“modern quilt kit”

Do you see your shop?

Pay attention to the words that come up. Are they the same words you're using on your website?

Maybe you call something a 10-inch square pack, but shoppers are searching for a Layer Cake. Those little differences matter.

Today's task: Google three things you sell and see what you learn.

Don't Overthink It

You don't need to tackle your entire website today.

Update five product titles. Improve five descriptions. Spend five minutes searching Google.

That's it. Small SEO improvements, done consistently, can really make a much bigger difference.
