Why Reviews Matter for Your Quilt Shop (And Ideas to Get More of Them)
Share
You probably don’t need me to tell you that reviews matter. When someone is deciding whether to order from your shop, sign up for a class, or make the drive to visit you, a few five-star reviews can go a long way toward making that decision easier.
The problem is getting people to actually leave them. Most happy customers aren’t thinking about writing a review. They’re thinking about what they’re going to make with the fabric they just bought. So, let's make it easy for them.
Start with one simple ask.
Add a review request to something you already do. Put a QR code on your packing slips. Add a sentence to your order follow-up email. Include a little card with class materials. Even a sign at the register works.
Something as simple as: Loved your experience? We’d love to hear about it! Scan here to leave us a quick review.
You can also make the question a little more specific. Instead of asking someone to “leave a review,” ask, “What did you love about your experience?” It gives people an easier place to start and often leads to a much more useful review.
And when you get a good one, use it.
Share it on social media. Put it in your newsletter. Add it to your website. A customer telling other customers that they had a great experience is some of the best marketing you can get.
So, here’s your next step: pick one place in your customer experience where you can ask for a review and add it this week. Don’t build a whole new system. Just tuck the ask into something you’re already doing.
Then let your happy customers do a little of the talking for you.
